What to Expect on Halloween in 2022 and How to Get Ready

by Jia Luo 17 Oct 2023 0 Comments

Long-standing Halloween customs include carving pumpkins, eating candy in all different colors, and dressing up in bizarre costumes. It is without a doubt one of the year's most thrilling occasions. Have you ever considered how this holiday came to be the way that it is now, though, before you put on your costume? We've compiled some suggestions to help you prepare for Halloween and have fun with it.

The origins of Halloween

Halloween is said to have its roots in a Celtic custom that began with the Samhain celebration 2,000 years ago. Samhain was one of the four major holidays celebrated in the Gaelic calendar to signify the end of the harvest and the start of winter. Since they believed that summer would bring harvest and winter would bring death, which represents a cold and dismal season, they think that this is the day when the line separating the worlds of the living and the dead was the thinnest.

Gregory III established November 1 as All Saints' Day in the eighth century, a day to commemorate all saints that also included certain Samhain customs. The evening of October 31, the night before All Hallows' Day, then became All Hallows' Eve. All Hallows' Eve was subsequently abbreviated to Hallows' Eve, which then evolved into Hallowe'en and finally became Halloween.

Halloween and its practices didn't take root in the United States until the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when immigration to the country had exploded, particularly the massive Irish and Scottish immigration. And in the 20th century, the festival's religious and superstitious components were obviously undermined, and Halloween became a greater and more popular day for gatherings and other social events.

Ideas for a Party

You don't have to go out with a large group of people to celebrate. If you're simply not in the mood or have to adhere to particular quarantine requirements, this might not be an option for you. Here are some suggestions for you if you choose to spend Halloween at home.

Deck Out Your Home

It's crucial to get in the Halloween spirit! You may use some eerie decorations, such as plastic spiders, witch brooms, fake spider webs, and many Halloween inflatable series, to adorn your home with your family, friends, and neighbors. To make your house the one that stands out on the street, employ all of your creativity.

Cook

You might want to learn how to make some Halloween cuisine or eat some once you've finished decorating. You'll be motivated to create a dish of your own by the teams of candy makers, cake designers, and pumpkin carvers. Just picture how shocked your relatives will be when they taste the original treat.

Watch scary films

Will being at home make you bored? It's time to get out your crazy Halloween projector so you can eat your homemade dessert while watching scary movies with your family or friends. No one can resist bingeing on food while watching a movie, I assure you! You may accomplish that with the aid of your crazy Halloween projector and the outside projection screen. Classic films are also fantastic options for you if you are terrified to watch scary movies.

Here are some ideas if you want to celebrate Halloween outside as well.
